I don't know how most DVC owners feel, but I've been at this a whole 48 hours. I've called MS maybe 6 times trying to get a stay pinned down. Since I just became a member and my wife wants to go in March its impossible to get anything with 7 consecutive nights. I did make a reservation for November at BWV with know problem.
Why couldn't the DVC owners be able to reserve online or at least check availability of rooms rather than be on the phone for 30 minutes to find out that theres nothing. Sort of like booking through disney.com. When certain rooms aren't available they come off the computer.
It kind of blows my mind to think that theres 91,000 of us trying to make reservations. VWL, BCV, BWV all seem to go quick at certain times of the year, thats why I bought into the BWV to give me that 11 month window.

That's what the 11 and 7 month booking windows are all about. Since most members with a specific resort will book in the 7-11 month window, and the rest of the folks in the system are allowed to book after the 7 month window, you will be left with slim pickings inside of 30-60 days. I would be as non-specific as you can be in your request, and be willing to take what you can get. There WILL be some things opening up, since folks plans always change. I would waitlist day by day, and then the worst that could happen is that you might have to move. Bear in mind that you are trying to book during spring break time...a VERY busy time to book.
 
Well, basically it comes down to cost. It's all possible, but it requires programming to expose a web interface into their booking system. It's probably hard to justify that with the relatively small number of DVC'ers (compared to overall WDW guests).

It would be costly, and for that money, they can probably continue to grow Member Services instead.

Still, I'd like to see it too!
