Online Reservations?

I currently have reservations which I made via telephone. Tonight I found a reservation which we prefer at a different resort. Any risk of cancelling my current reservation online in order to use those points to book a different reservation?

Yes you can cancel a reservation you made through Member services on line.
Just go to your vacation center and call up your pending vacationa and cancel the one you need to cancel.

I have cancelled a reservation made through member services on line with no problems.

Where the points from the cancelled reservation credited back to your account immediately so you were then able to rebook using the same points?

What is the time frame for cancelling/changing a reservation date? If say I have reservations for a week @ WDW in November, what is the latest date I can change the date? 30 days? Thanks! (Tried to find this in the handbook but didn't see it)

As long as you cancel more than 30 days out, the points simply go back into your account. 30 days or under the Holding Account rules apply (can only re-book 60 days prior to arrival.)

From a practical standpoint, availability is likely to be a bigger problem. Timeshares aren't necessarily amenable to tweaking travel dates 1-2 months out.

Also point still have to be used before the end of the Use Year or they are forfeit. Depending upon when the cancellation is made, banking the points may not be an option.

I'm not sure now whether to cancel and rebook, I booked at exactly 7 months out for a 1 bed Old Key West Villa and I was able to book the week ahead from 13th October to 20th but I still need to book another 9 nights on the reservation.

Not sure whether to wait until Thursday when I can book the full 16 nights or cancel and rebook today and do the same again Thursday? Do OKW 1 bedrooms book up fast near Halloween?

If I'm understanding correctly, you already have 7 nights booked and need to add more. The online system won't let you add to and existing reservation so you would have to wait until 7 months out from night 8 to book more.

File that as a design limitation of the online system. If you call Member Services, they will manual add the extra nights now. If you're worried about not getting a room, I would go that route. You probably don't have to worry about being blocked from an OKW 1B, but if it will give you peace of mind make the phone call.
