Online ordering from Target

Specifically their return policy. I'm thinking about ordering a Halloween costume online because they don't have it in the stores. It says that I can return it to any Target store but that seems odd if the stores don't carry it. Does anyone have experience with returning items ordered online to the store?? I'm really out of options. My DS wants to be a football player for Halloween and they have the costume online (I know the costume won't fit but I need the helmet).

Yes they take a return of something bought online, that's not available in stores. There was a specific electronic item we wanted that was only available online. It didn't work when we installed it & I took it back to the closest Target store. They accepted it back with no questions asked.

All Target stores accept on-line returns. I love it!!! Because the Target store will normally just deeply discount it and put it in the clearance end-cap. Love it!

Great. Thank you for easing my fears. If this doesn't work, the helmet alone will be $100 and I just can't do that for a Halloween costume.

I ordered at set of dishes from Target.com that they did not stock in store. The dishes arrived broken and I returned them to the store. I remember that I had to go through the website and printed out something that I needed to bring to the store with the return. No problem with the return at the store.

Just make sure that the item says that it can be returned to a Target store (which it sounds like you did).

There are items (few and far between) that cannot be returned to a store.

I ordered a carseat from Target.com. I couldn't get it installed properly in my car, and I returned it to a Target store. I didn't have any problems with the return.

Target will gladly accept any return items ordered from Target.com, so long as you have the invoice, etc.

As for the store not having it, the website sells close to a million items not typcially stocked at bricks-and-mortar Target stores.

Returning stuff to Target is easy as long as it qualifies for store return. You'll have to print the receipt online and then take it back to the store. Easy peasy

Thank you all for easing my worries. I placed the order this morning. Hopefully the helmet fits. He wants to be a football player so bad for Halloween but I just can't see paying $100 for a helmet for Halloween. I know the uniform that comes with it is too small but I only need the helmet.

Why don't you check out a used sports equipment store or on craigslist for a helmet, you can then sell it back after the holidays.

Check if there is a specific return policy on COSTUMES. If it is considered a seasonal item, there may be a clause in the return policy. MANY "costumes" are not eligible for return after a specific amount of time has passed (usually 1-2 weeks).

I've ordered sundresses online and returned them in the store w/ no hassles at all.
