Has anyone used this played before? I just saw it mentioned in the April addition of Pop Photo and wondered if anyone had any thoughts?

Cheers

Interesting that we can pick up and drop off the lenses at Celebration, only minutes from WDW. They're making it *too* easy! :)

Great idea!! Now you can "test drive" that lens you've been wanting and make sure it's the lens you REALLY want at the Happiest Place in the World!!

I noticed on the Nikon side only one lens was in-stock.......

Not yet, but I'm tempted to try the Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L. I'd love to hear other people's experiences with them.

I met someone at MouseFest who rented a lens from them for that trip so he could try it out before buying it. He raved about them.

Hmmm. They have even opened a used lens store. Looks like some good deals. Esp. that 60mm macro lens (and the L glass)

I thought it was nice they didn't require a security deposit like my local camera shop, and they offer insurance. I may have to try this place out once some more Nikon lenses come available.

I am also interested in a tilt/shift lens but would like one longer than 24. My goal is to maximize depth of field for photographing scale models. On a 1.6x crop camera any EF lens will have the larger image circle required for t&s, I may try modifying a 50 f/1.8 some day.

I've rented from them twice last summer, once to check out the Canon 300 f/4 lens to see if I would likee it and I also tried the 70-200 mm. Had a very good experience with them and would rent again from them. The lens comes well packed and ins. has a prepaid shipping pkg. that all you have to do is pkg up and drop off at the PO. Your rental doesn't start until the day you receive the lens. They even e-mail you when the lens is returned.
Sign up for there e-mails to notify you when a lens you want comes in, but the best way is to check several times a day, esp. in the afternoon because the lens don't stay in stock very long, only mins. sometimes, I would also pre. reg. with them because the first time I went to rent from them, by the time I filled in all my shipping and billing info someone else had rented the lens I wanted. They also have a sign up to buy there old lenes, they had a sale last week, some good buys, but didn't have the money to buy one.

Okay- Use to only need WDW Resi's- then came ADR's- now I need to start preplanning my lens needs 180 days out too I guess. :rotfl:
