Online grocery coupons?

I get the Sunday paper delivered entirely for the coupons and sales flyers. Are there places online to get grocery coupons instead? Or is the Sunday paper the way to go?

I prefer the newspaper inserts myself but also use coupons.com occasionally. Right now they have several coupons for Kelloggs cereal for $1 off one box. Combine that with a sale price and you've got a great deal on cereal. You could also join ShiPooOwner's coupon train or one of the other coupon trains and trade with others on a weekly basis. Some people use couponclippers.com which is a site where you pay for the clippers services because it's not permitted to sell the coupons themselves.

Also if you have a MyPoints account they have an online grocery coupon section. You get 10 points for every coupon you redeem. So its like 2 birds with 1 stone. :thumbsup2

I use the coupon database at www.HotCouponWorld.com to find printables.

I also use

www.coupons.com
www.MakingLifeBetter.com (Unilever brands)
www.SimpleAndDelicious.com (ConAgra brands)
www.BettyCrocker.com (changes at the beginning of every month)

If you subscribe to the Kraft email newsletter (go to www.KraftFoods.com and look for the Food&Family signup), occasionally you will receive printable coupons.

In fact, get yourself on any email/print list for the products you purchase. Then when that company runs a campaign, you'll get the coupons :)

I also use coupons.com. There are a few very good "deal" blogs on the internet as well - specifically, they are dealseekingmom.com and thefrugalmuse.blogspot.com. These two sites can link you to others as well. They provide links to coupons, but also give great advice on other deals and ways to save money.

Good luck!

You need to check the policy of the stores you shop at. None of the grocery stores or Targets in my area in Greater Boston accept "internet" coupons or any coupons printed on your printer. They won't even take their own company's on-line coupons - each store is allowed to determine its own coupon policy.

Therefore, I started buying clipped coupons - technically the coupons are free and you pay for the time of the clipper - about 7 cents per coupon.

It depends on how much you want to get into couponing. If you want to be like those people that you hear who get like $100-worth of groceries for under $10, then 1 Sunday paper, plus internet printables (IP) will not be enough. If not, then your Sunday newspaper and the occasional IP will be fine.

But, my suggestion is to mainly get the Sunday coupon inserts -- from the largest paper near you, because it will usually have the most/better coupons than the other papers. And, in order to really take advantage of the deals you will need more than 1 copy of those inserts. That means you will need to either buy multiple copies of the Sunday newspapers, or get them by other means, like friends, family, neighbors etc.

Then, supplement these coupons with the IP. One thing to remember about the IP is that they usually expire 30 days after you print them, so you have the weigh whether you think you will use them soon or, if not, whether the link for the coupon will still be there when you do need it. Don't rely soley on IP's, mainly because many stores limit IP's or have some kind of policy against them. Hopefully you will find stores around you more coupon friendly.

Then after all that, in order to use your coupons effectively, choose a site that has forums for the stores you shop at so you can get "in" on the deals.

It also depends on the stores you shop at. The stores around here (Long Island) won't take internet coupons at all. :( At least, not the Waldbaum's or Pathmark, King Kullen or Stop & Shop's I've tried. Waste of ink for me.

Avonlady, you might want to check at your local Pathmark again. I know that some Pathmarks have changed coupon policies over the past month or so, as part of the takeover by the A&P parent company.
