Do any of you use the online DVD rental companies?

I used to use amazon but they have transferred their rental service over to lovefilm.com but I just don't like their website....when you look through the new releases section it shows films from the 90's...such as Meet Joe Black!!!

Anyone recommend any others?

Who needs DVD's to watch when you have Kevin on the other board with his stories to keep us entertained :lmao: .
Seriously no i can't help you-we rent from Blockbuster.x.

I know! :lmao: Kevin has kept me entertained all night with his tales!

The nearest Blockbuster to me is about 7 miles away that's why we changed to renting online...

we had a bad experience with Love Film, so I wouldn't recommend them, we did use Tesco for a while and they were ok. I don't know what there catalogue is like these days though.

We used Lovefilm for a bit on a free trial. Didn't get on with the service and they were a nightmare to cancel with. My sister and friend both use Blockbuster's online rental. Friend raves about how great they are, quick delivery, send discs from box sets in the correct order. Sis is cancelling as they've not sent her a disc for over a month, she has 65 dvds on her list and it claims none are available.

i have recently signed up with lovefilm and im finding them fab! we have had three Dvds so far... found them very helpful on the phone and were lovin it! :)

we have used love film for a long time and never had any problems, I think WHsmith have one, easyCinema.Com, www.cinemaparadiso.co.uk but I dont know how reliable these are:)

We use Blockbuster, though they don't offer the package we have to new customers anymore (probably because it's the best value!) They've always been consistent with getting DVDs to us and they have a huge catalogue. You do need to keep your list 'stocked up' though as sometimes newer releases can take a while to arrive. IMO online services are only worth the money if you don't keep the discs for too long otherwise renting individually, local libraries or even buying the DVD would work out better value.

I used Lovefilm for a while. Mostly they were OK, but sometimes they took too long to send disks out (ie longer than same-day). I apreciate that newer titles are in more demand, but I had a huge rental disk list.

I also had a problem with their ordering system. I don't know if they fixed it, as their seemingly foreign call centre could not understand what I was saying about it. If you for example select a 6 disk box set, and try to change the order of what the disks are being sent to you in, it will not let you do anything other than 1,2,3,4,5 then 6. For whatever reason, I required the later disks in a set before the early ones, so I tried to put the priority of 1-4 as low, and 5-6 as High, and it just refuses to do it.

I used Tesco for a while and cancelled for much the same reasons as cited above. My rental list was quite long, but mostly made up of films I'd put on to bulk it up. The newer ones never seemed to arrive and the series were usually sent out in the wrong order. I found them pretty useless.

Thanks for all your replies....:thumbsup2

I guess seeing as all the others seem to be just as bad that I might try sticking with LoveFilm for a bit longer and see what happens. :)

Im with Tesco's but Im sure they operate through Love Film as occasionally thats the company name on the envelopes they send me, but I love them, never had any major issues, but my list is huge:thumbsup2
