Online DVC booking

I'm not sure when this news was announced, but you can now book the website using Transferred and One-Time-Use Points.

NEW! Use Transferred and One-Time-Use Points to Book Online
Now you can book Disney Vacation Club accommodations online using previously purchased one-time use Points, as well as Points that were transferred to your Membership.
The following guidelines apply:

• • One-time-use Points may be used for Disney Vacation Club accommodations in the 7-month booking window.
• • One-time-use Points may not be used for Home Resort Priority.

At this time, transferred Points and one-time-use Points WILL NOT display online on your Vacation Points Overview.
However, available transferred Points and one-time-use Points WILL be reflected and usable in the Member Online Booking system and can be used to complete a booking. These bookings can also be modified online as well.

It’s new as of today and some have discovered it before they put the message up! It’s a great addition!

It could certainly change the use of transfers between my two memberships now that online booking and changes have been added.

You may only purchase OTUP when making the reservation that uses them. Since you have to call to use them, buying them ahead wouldn't save you time, anyway.

Aren't OTU points now available to use online? I know you would still have to call in to purchase them but if someone were to book a fake reservation and then cancel, wouldn't those OTU points then be available to book online at 7 months?

I don't think OTU points are available like Transfer Points.

Key issue is that Transfer Points have a UY and home resort. Transfer points can be assigned a UY (they expire at the end of your primary UY) but no home resort. I suspect the system database is very angry about that last bit...

I've seen people who posted having previously purchased OTU points suddenly having a new, random, home resort show up so I'm guessing they are using points owned by Disney for this purpose. Also, the notification on the DVC site showed that OTU points are bookable online.

Yes, I think that would work in order to have them for a 7 month booking, assuming the system works correctly!

It is 8 am EsT. Same as 11 month. You can get all the way to the calendar with the dates and hit book at that time.

But the system does another check once you do..the balloons.. and if in that time other computers were faster, you will get the message that you are outside the window because the system sees that day gone and your request starting the next day.
