Hi everyone!
I just purchased a Nikon DSLR and am interested in free online photography courses. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this. Any recommendations? I came across photographycourse.net that looks interesting- and it's free - but wanted some other recommendations. Thanks!

Not free but very inexpensive (16 bucks). It's by a photographer named Chris Roberts.
The digital slr guide.
It gives you 7 on line courses that goes over every thing on your camera and how it effects your pictures. Also a weekly newsletter that has great information.
I also like that I could email him with questions about my pictures and he got back with suggestions or explanations very quickly.

don't think we are allowed to link stuff so just google digital slr guide.

There are plenty of forums and online tutorials for photography that are free. I learned the basics (and much more) from the guys on the photography board right here. They're all more then helpful and there's plenty of pinned threads to help you out. You should head over and have a look.

If you want a great book to get you started check out Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson.

I second the recommendation of this book. FANTASTIC. Best less-than-$20 you'll ever spend (as far as photography goes).

Thank you! I will search for this.

Great recommendation - thank you!

Thanks for the link - but it looks like a forum. Where do I find the classes?

Each week has the lesson pdf in the first post followed by a discussion in the rest of the thread. Just click on each week in the link I posted.
