Okay, I’m old and stupid. This new stuff has me baffled. For online checkin…the little blue countdown thing, that’s on my phone, says once I’m paid in full, I can checkin. When I look up stuff already posted, it’s saying 30 days before sailing. Which is it?? This is my 4th cruise and I’m totally lost on everything. Can you please help? And using English language and not abbreviations?

Once you are PIF and you reach your CC status date, you can book excursions, adult dining, etc. Right now, all guests check in at 30 days with your passport and selfie and get PAT. Then through SafePassage you upload your vaccination proof at 15 days and negative test results within 2 days.

ETA: your CC status date to book port excursions and onboard activities may be sooner than the official PIF date for all.

If this is your 4th Disney cruise you are a silver castaway club member. So you will have a date by which you can start to book port adventures and onboard activities (like drink tastings, Palo, etc). Currently, it is still common to have this date to book adventures be different from and typically earlier than your required paid in full date (pandemic impact here).

If you want to book activities based on your Silver status you have to pay in full before that booking date. OR if you pay in full anytime after that date you can start booking once your payment processes.

This is different than the online checkin which opens 30 days before sail date (and you must be paid in full 30 days out if already booked). Online check in allows you to pick your port arrival times, upload your documents, etc.

So hopefully drawing the distinction helps. Now if you are within 30 days of sailing at time of booking then everything will be open to you.

Finally, you didn’t ask about it but since we are talking dates - safe passage will be 15 days before sailing.

Hope this helps. Happy cruising!

I agree this is confusing. It says, “once you’ve paid in full, start checking in”. It doesn’t mention that checkin isn’t available until 30 days prior.

This confused me too. I made my final payment early just so I could get my PAT then found out I couldn’t! I was not happy.

And it’s when the counter reaches 30 days, 0 hours. I started getting excited when mine was at 31 days and x hours only to stop to realize that it’s not just the top number. I’m blaming Covid brain on that one.
