online checkin for late arrival

Need some opinions.....we will be arriving to Kidani late (11ish p.m.). Do you think it would be better to check in online before leaving home or at the desk on arrival? After reading all the recent posts about messed up room assignments, I am wondering which is the best way to handle this? Any thoughts?

Well, we used on line check in for the first time in January and couldn't have been happier. Got the building we requested and the room was ready upon arrival. Will use it again for our March trip.

I would much rather do online check in. Any time saved, and not standing in line is a plus. You still have the opportunity to speak with the desk clerk if there are any questions.

I guess my biggest worry is that we are arriving sooo late. I don't want to get there and find out there is no room left at the inn or that my res had "magically" been changed (seems to be an issue lately from what I've read).

When we arrive late we do on-line check in. Hasn't been a problem yet for us and we've been doing it since they first allowed it. We are arriving this Friday at BLT at around 8 PM and did on-line check in. The following Thursday we check in at the BWV's in the morning and will not do on-line check in since it may give us more flexibility with the room assignment.

When you arrive late, there may be no room left at the inn anyway. I figure it's best to check in ahead of time in those situations.

If I paid my points the room I have my ressie for had BETTER be there waiting for me @ 4 PM or anytime therefore or DVC will have one unhappy and loud Geek!!! Now they might not meet your room request and if you arrive late they might not be able to switch your room, but they certainly SHOULD have something that technically meets your booking category!!! Unlike airlines things ought not be overbooked.
