Online Check In

Hello everyone. Long time reader but as you can see very few posts ....

I plan on filling out the online checkin and putting in a CC once it become available to me at 60 days out.

This is our first trip to WDW since the magic bands and I have a question. We are staying at PO and arriving by DME around 1230. We'd like to go straight to the parks since we are having our luggage delivered to room by DME. Our tickets are all hooked up in the My Disney Experience App. Will we be able to get off the DME bus at PO and head directly to the bus to DHS? We will have to stop at guest relations at DHS to have our military tickets activated, but beyond that, I'd like to skip the front desk at the resort. Oh and our QS package has the mugs - will they magically appear in our room?

I think you should be able to head straight to the parks...that's my plan in a few weeks!

The mugs you have to pick up in the food court at your hotel. When you go to the checkout counter the CM will scan your magic band and and see an "entitlement" for the mugs (sort of like a dining plan credit).

You will be able to go from the resort to the park, no issue there! You'll need to pick up the refillable mugs at the Riverside Mill Food Court.

Are you booked at the military rate for the room? You might need to go to the front desk to show your military ID before going to the room, but this could be after you get back from DHS.

Basically, if you get a text with your room number, you can go straight to your room when you get back from DHS. If no text, stop at front desk.

However, if you plan on using the dining plan while at DHS, and you don't get the room number text, you might not be able to use the dining plan at DHS if you don't stop at the front desk. Dining plan credits aren't activated until you are completely checked in, which means you have your room number.

No, because they don't want you to go to your room before it's ready.

But, I should add that if you go to the front desk to check in, and your room isn't ready, they will activate the dining plan for you. And then text you when your room is ready.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. I didn't think you had to have a room number in order to have your dining plan activated. But it would require a stop at the desk, which you noted.

Thanks for the info all! So to make sure I have it right...if I get a text with room number then everything should be activated accept my military tickets which I activate at the park guess services
If I don't get the text then stop at front desk and have qs plan activated and then it's off to the park. BTW.. we did not use a military discount on room as none were available for our dates so we bought a Jet Blue package minus the tickets...

Whew.....I definitely don't remember it being this much work. . Last 4 Orlando vacations were at the park down the road that starts with YOU..

Yeah, I realized I was unclear when I read your reply. I was referring to online check in only when I wrote about getting the room number to mean check in was complete.
