Apologies if this has been asked and answered previously I arrive at POP in the 3rd so today is my window for online check in so how do I do it does an email arrive? I've logged onto my res with Disney and no instructions there or does their day start after 12.00 our time ?

Can anyone explain to me what are the advantages of doing online check in for the resort.

I understand why we do online check in the our flights but just wondering what we would achieve buy checking in early for the hotel. :confused3:confused3

Thank you all :goodvibes

It's designed to save time on arrival, instead of having to give them all of your details, credit card number etc it's all done online, so all you need to do is turn up, show ID and pick up your room key :thumbsup2

There I knew that there must be a good reason if UK DISers did it :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thank you

Personally I always find Disney check in really quick and efficient upon arrival, plus I like to talk to the CM at the front desk, it's all part of the holiday!

I agree, we did online check in for our reservation at Kidani last year, wasn't any quicker or different to checking in normally at Pop the week before really.

There's a separate queue or online check in usually do if you arrive at a busy time it is quicker. We did this at OKW on our trip in May and there was quite a queue for normal check in. Online check in only had one other family in front of us which did save a lot of time. Other times we have done it in the past and check in has been quiet so it really didn't make much difference.

Well I followed the link and the booking number wouldn't let me continue so I phoned Disney UK and the lady said that as I have to pass through customs I could not check in online ?? Then she gave me a number with 3 letters preceding numbers but that doesn't work either oh we'll looks like I will be doing normal checkin problem is I'm landing at 18.30 so choice may be limited :(

No, you have to log in on the us part of the site. So if you haven't yet, you need to sign up on the US part of the site: go to www.disneyworld.com and scroll to the bottom of the site to choose US english version from the International version drop down. Then click my reservations and you should get the option to sign in or register (using your us confirmation to log in). Then when you're signed in, click my reservations and it should show you your booking and a reminder that you can do online booking.

It depends what time of the day you arrive at your resort. US guests tend to schedule their flights to arrive earlier in the day so that they can make decent use of their park entry, as they do shorter stays than we tend to do. If you are arriving late afternoon or early evening, from our experience, there is little to no line whatsoever. If we came in on a flight earlier in the day with expected time of arrival at the resort before mid afternoon I would do it. I don't think you have anything to lose but have never felt the need to attempt it, aside from one year out of curiosity, lol

Doing OLCI you can also make choices (up to 2) regarding room location (building for POP) and other things

you can also indicate the earliest you expect to check in. For example if you intend to check in before the "legal" 3pm time, you can choose your check in time from the list.
Doing so, there is a higher chance that your room be ready before 3pm and at the time you check in (although not guaranteed)

We do that because we stay offsite for our first night (no need to pay for a disney hotel to spend 5 hours in a room and wake up at silly o'clock), so as we're up quite early, we pop up at POP (is that a pun ?) very early (8ish/9ish), get our KTTW and off we go to the parks.
Worst case scenario, the room is not ready, we leave luggage at baggage service, and the front desk texts us our room number once it's ready

now for guest checking in later than 4pm, OLCI is a perk, but you can do without

How do I get my US confirmation number

It's me again well I finally did it but at the end it said we cannot include your room requests which tbh there wasn't much choice and no room to write also I must add I spoke to US airways yesterday as I had read of possible upgrade to envoy for around £50 very nice man informed me that the price would be £415 guess I'll be sticking with coach :(

We booked through the WDTC UK. I have six-digit reference number and have logged in to the US WDW site but it won't accept the six-digit number. Is there another number provided by WDTC UK or is it just not possible to check-in online when booking through WDTC UK?

You can call them and ask for the 12 digit US reservation number. I learnt a few years ago to request this at the time of booking just because I knew I would eventually need it.

Regarding OLCI from the UK, I tried to do it last year, purely as a 'guinea pig' to report back to others asking about it on the UK boards. After no joy on the website I called the CRO in the US and was eventually transferred to a manager who told me that "at this present time it is not possible for guest booking through Disney International to do the OLCI, but we are addressing the issue"

Now keep in mind that was nearly a year ago and between booking and checking in, Disney had a major computer system overhaul which caused some glitches.

Your best bet would be to ring Disney UK before they close and ask for your 12 digit number and tell them you need it for OLCI as the alpha numeric one does not work

Interesting however, if I log into my reservation on the US site it actually shows an alpha numeric reference number alongside my current reservation
