Is it worth it?

I won't be able to check in until next Tuesday but I'm not sure if it's worth it. We have a few requests (which I know isn't a guarantee) so I didn't know if it was best to wait and check in when we got there.

Are the chances of getting your request better if you check in online?

What is your experience with online check in? We'll be staying at the ASMo.

TIA!

Call in to Disney and have your room requests placed on your reservation before you ever arrive. The rooms are assigned days before you even get there. Online check in won't hurt or help your chances of getting your room request. However if you check in early and the room you request is not ready you CAN tell them you will take whatever is available and get a room right then, in most cases.

But waiting until the moment you check in to let them know you want a room on "ground floor" "facing away from the pool" "in Jazz building" is least likely to get you what you want. Have it noted on your reservation.

I wouldn't make more than 2 requests.

So for instance, we already have requests with our reservation via the travel agent. Toy Story building, ground level. Should I still call in or the online will be sufficiated?

Then you don't need to call, since your requests are already on your reservation record.

Requests and online check-in really don't have anything to do with one another. All that online check-in does for you is give you the opportunity to provide your credit card number ahead of time, if you wish to charge to your room. It also give the resort the opportunity to get your key and paperwork printed up ahead of your arrival, so you don't need to wait at the desk while they do that. You also get to stand in a special check-in line, which may or may not be faster than the regular check-in line.

It's really just meant to save you a few minutes at check-in. It's not a necessity, and the way that you check in doesn't affect your room assignment.
