Online check in

Can you not do the online check in 10 days out for DL resorts like you can for WDW? I was trying to do it today, and it wasn't showing up as an option...we have a DVC ressie- does that make a difference?

I don't think you can. I tried to do this last night and on the member site it says that online check-in is available for WDW DVC, not VGC or select WDW resorts. Hope this helps!

No, that is only at WDW, no prior check-in at DL, sorry, I wish they had it too. But check-in has not taken long for us either of the two times we have stayed there. That being said, there is no separate check-in for DVC versus the regular hotel, so it may also depend on the time of day/night you try to check-in.

If I'd guess, we'd probably plan to check in late afternoon so we can get into the room...or maybe earlier just to drop off the bags.

Just check-in when you get there! Even if your villa isn't ready, Bell Services can hold onto your bags, and then they should text/call you on your cell (assuming, of course, that you have one) when the room is ready. You'll have keycards and everything already, so you'll be good to go, arranging, of course, for the Bell people to bring up your bags.

I haven't stayed there on points (got in a hotel room on points for the brief period of time after the villas opened when you could still do that), but when we stayed on the hotel side, I had to do a little juggling of my stuff after checkin...put the checkin packet into the bags (taking out the keycards and little keycard folder that had room info on it) putting in various things Iwouldn't need, making sure I had my camera etc, and sending the bags off to be held while we went into the parks!

We'll be getting our passes on Saturday -we're staying at the Sheraton Saturday night to save points- so I think we'll probably hit the park right at opening (especially since we'll be coming from the east coast) I'm sure we'll be up early!
