Online Check In

How exactly does this work? I had a rental yesterday at the fort and when I pulled up and gave the lady the renters name she handed me their packet with the park info, fort info, parking pass and room keys. They had put me on as a guest so I would have access to set up. However it works is pretty nice because I was at the gate for about 3 minutes.

We've done online check-in for our last two trips. Once we got to the window, we were through within minutes. Our biggest problem was that both times, the people in line in front of us took forever! This last time, we were directed to lane 4 because they said that was for people that did online checkin. There was only one group ahead of us (two vehicles), but they took forever to check in because they had 2 or 3 reservations and hadn't done online checkin for any of them! I have no idea why they were in that line.

Cool, so how do you do this?

The on line check in is available 10 days before your arrival date on the WDW reservation website (as long as you have reservations of course). It takes just a few minutes to complete and you are good to go.

I've done online checkin at the Fort a couple of times, it does save time once you get to the desk.

However, when I tried to do the online checkin for the Memorial Day group reservation, it wouldn't let me. So just a heads up, you probably won't be able to do online checkin if you are in the October Group reservation.

The online check in was a great time saver this past weekend. I did the online check in and we arrived this past Friday at around 6:30 pm and the line for check in was longer than I have ever seen it. All of the lanes were backed up almost to the guard shack. When I finally got to the guard shack they had a CM with the guard and if you had done online check in they had all the packs and room keys and everything at the guard shack so we received all our papers and room keys at the guard shack and didn't have to wait in any line at all. I'm guessing that this saved us almost an hour having not to wait in the check in line. After this I will use the online check in every time I go to the Fort.

I would like to use the online check in, but I don't want it to affect our site request. I've faxed our request, but not sure how this works in conjunction with the online check-in. Has anybody had issues with this?
