I've not done online check-in before (as it was either unavailable for my flight and airport, or it was too long ago)

I'll be giving it a try this time (if it's available) but I'm wondering what happens if you don't have a printer to print out boarding cards.

Am I right in thinking you can still check in online, and there are 'stations' at check in where you can then print your boarding cards? What do you then do with your luggage? Take it to a certain desk?

Sorry for being so dim, but I've not done this before! It's probably bread n butter stuff to most people... :rotfl2:

I have only done it with VA but with them you can check in online and not worry about boarding cards. Once you get to the airport there will be a bag drop desk located at the normal check in desk. They will tag and take your cases and print your boarding cards :thumbsup2

As the PP said, not having printed out your boarding cards is only an issue if you are going with carry on bags only.

If you have hold bags you'll need to go to a bag drop line and they'll issue you boarding cards then.

In fact when we've used bag drop and printed our own boarding passes they usually took them from us, tore them up and printed 'proper' boarding passes.

I admit I've only experience with VA but I imagine any company allowing onine check-in will work the same way.

That's magic, thanks guys. It's VA we're flying with, so assuming they have online check-in set up for my flight (they didn't last time) then we can bag drop without having to print boarding cards ourselves.

Just what I wanted to hear!

I always get them to print our boarding cards - I would hate to have to carry A4 pieces of paper :goodvibes

We printed our off at the BA kiosks one year. Aerlingus we took the confirmation print out with our pre booked seat numbers and they printed out boaring passes when we checked our bags in.

If in doubt call your airline to make sure.:thumbsup2

A lot of the major airlines are now giving the option of sending your OLCI to your phone
