Online check-in - requests??

After 11 months of waiting, we're finally on single digits to our AKL CL Studio visit for spring break! I finally got to do online check-in, at last!

Had a question, though - I often see people referring to making room requests during online check-in, but I don't see where that's an option. The area for special requests had one option - to check off a box for "Near Transportation" (not an issue, I think, in AKL CL, since they're all close). We'd love a savanna view, and I've written here before, MS won't take those requests anymore. Where do you do that? Am I missing something??

The request portion of on-line check-in is designed for CRO guests only. Requests for DVC reservations must be made with MS. For those rooms that MS won't take requests for, you will have to try and see if the front desk can do anything.

Hmm... I didn't have an option to enter in special requests when I checked in online for Coronado Springs 2 years ago either (booked through CRO) - just a couple of check boxes like the one I saw today.

Ask when you check. We went for 1 ni to AKL and our room was not ready - no big deal it was early. Went to a park until 2:30 hoped the room would be ready but it was not (knew it was a 50/50 shot and I was told it would not be ready until probably 4) so I asked if ANYTHING was available in our catagory and within 10 minutes we were heading to our room. Our room was assigned because we did on-line checkin but they did have other rooms available. Not sure how well it will work with CL but worth asking!

Since there are so few rooms at CL, I think it is the luck of the draw. We did CL 2 years ago and got a savannah view. We didn't see much other than the same few animals. No giraffes, some steer type animal and a few Pumba's.

You can always email member services through "contact us" on the DVC website. I've done that in the past.

No matter what happens or what view we get, we'll be on the club level, having a blast on vacation! How could that be bad?

We love the savanna view but on the bright side, we've never had the pool view, so that'll be a new experience too, if that's our luck.

Have a wonderful time at AKV concierge!!! Enjoy! We have stayed there a couple years ago and had a studio savannah view. Here's sending you some pixie dust......
