online check in question

We’re heading to Disney soon. We’re a large family, so we have two rooms. I have the option for online check-in available for one of my rooms and not the other. I’m not sure why. Both used to have the option, but somehow one child was on both rooms and one child was in neither room (we’re booked through a group rate, but no TA/coordinator). I had that fixed for magic band and FP purposes, but that’s when the online check-in option disappeared. We’re kind of coming in later (7pm) and don’t really mind doing an in-person check-in, but since I’m really hoping for connecting rooms, should I call and get that fixed? Is it possible to fix? Or would we be better off checking-in in person. We don’t usually have two rooms and generally stay on rented points when onsite so I have no experience with connecting rooms.

I wouldn't do online check in if you need connecting rooms. But as long as you have two adults (guests over the age of 17) in the party, they can put you in two rooms that do not connect. You need to add "traveling with" on both reservations so they can get them as close as possible, especially with your late arrival. You don't have online check in for both rooms because you aren't on both reservations. You are only on the reservation tied to your My Disney Experience.
