Online Check-In for DVC Resort-- yay or nay?

Sorry, old thread but wanted to find out if anything has changed for online check in. We are just under two weeks from the date of our arrival and wondering if it will help with room requests or hurt, or it doesn't matter.

It makes zero difference with room requests.

One advantage to on-line check-in is the new 'direct to room' feature. With direct to room, they will send you a text or email with your room number and you don't have to stop at the front desk. Of course, this is only an advantage if you don't really care where your room is located.

PVB only has something like 45% of the total studios available for DVC use so that might also affect what can be assigned.

I have used online check in for the last four trips. I have had my room requests met about half the time. The thing I do recall is when doing your online check in, if you also want to arrive early, there is a question which asks you if arriving early takes priority over room request. I always prefer early arrival and have usually gotten it.
