Online Check-in: Entering special request

Okay, so I'm pretty tech savvy (so I don't think this is entirely user related), and I'm trying to do online check-in. I want to enter in a "special request" on Step 6. So I click the "Add Special Request" button, and I get a box that says "Add up to 2 room requests. Though we try to honor all requests, we cannot guarantee them, unless otherwise indicated below." Below that is a "Cancel" & "Submit" button.

So where I do I type my request? I can't delete the text in the box, and I don't already have any request on my online check-in form. I'm stuck. Anyone have any idea? I should be able to enter something in that box, right?

I keep having problems with the WDW site. I kept asking me repeatedly to log-in, time after time. Seriously, Mickey needs to shell out some $$$ for some IT work.

As you have found out, during online check-in is NOT the way to enter any requests. Lots of reports on the DIS of people having the same results. We use online check-in every trip and like it. But we have never used it for requests.

The best way to add a request is to call CRO and have them added to your reservation.

Thanks. They already have my request on file, and we're staying at POR, which I understand accepts faxes for request, so I can always go that route. My inlaws are meeting us at WDW and their reservation is already linked in the WDW system with ours. I just wanted to ask, again, that we get a connecting room, if available.

If your request is already on your reservation, no need to do anything else.

I'm not making a room request but am having the same problem as OP(since yesterday AM) with the online check in. It's not a big deal but it is annoying, it makes the trip seem sooo much closer once you check in online! It seems like they are constantly updating or having website problems. Seems silly to me since they are so technologically advanced in their theme parks that the website is constantly having issues:upsidedow
