Online check-in and linked reservations

Just a heads-up for folks w/linked reservations--

This afternoon I tried to do online check-in for my upcoming trip...I had one day in the middle of my five-night reservation that was not available on points when I booked, so I reserved it on cash (and waitlisted the night for points), and linked the resulting 3 reservations...

The waitlist came through, but it still shows up as a linked reservations with 3 components (night one, night two, and nights three thru five)...

Online check-in would not work, and they showed a phone number to call for assistance. I called. They bounced me around some, but eventually sent me to a computer system assistance phone where they told me linked reservations cannot use on-line check-in.

They're working on fixing it. They don't know how long it will take.

I then called MS, to be sure my reservations are really linked (the computer people kept insisting it was 3 separate rooms under 3 separate reservations). MS assured me the reservations are in fact linked and I will be in only one villa during my trip.

I'm a little nervous about it...but I think I've done all I can prior to arrival to make sure ...

Anyway, thought folks would want to know, especially with the "growth" in segmenting (and linking) reservations in order to use the DP for only part of a trip...

I was wondering about the same thing since we have 2 segments with the same ressie #.
I assume you have the same set up, 1 ressie # for more than 1 segment. So I should I forget about online check in then eh?

We had a similar situation during our trip in February. We were told at that time that IT was working on fixing the online check in to allow people with linked reservations to use the online check in system.

When we arrived at our resort, everything was fine and the wait to check in was very minimal.

Same here. Our trips in February and April had segments and there was no problem with staying in one room. We also were unable to do on-line check-in.

When I called to add the meal plan 48 hours prior to arrival, I paid with my credit card. When we checked in, the front desk asked if I wanted to use the same credit card for the room and I said yes. So even though we weren't able to do online check in, they had all the necessary information and I only needed to show my ID.
