Online check in and FP Questions

When I bring my Dis Experience up it says I have 2 days till check in. So does this mean at Midnight on Monday (or before) I can start making FP reservations? When I go to the FP+ page. Right now it says I can only go to Dec 9th. Will this change since my check in date is Jan 9th? First time doing this and a little confused. Thanks for any info.
