online check-in and baggage?

We'll be flying with airtran this time and they offer online check-in 24 hours before your flight, we usually fly US Air and check in at the airport but they give you seat assignments when you book the flight. With Airtran you choose your seats at check in so I plan on doing the online check-in at the 24 hour mark so my ds and I sit together. Does this mean you print your boarding passes from home or do you do that at the airport? what do you do about your baggage? Do you go to the desk at the airport and they print the tags out for you? Do you check-in and choose seats online but print boarding passes and baggage tags at the airport?

You can print them at home or let them print them when you get to the airport. Just check in online and pick your seat. When you get to the airport then you can check in your luggage and receive your boarding passes if you haven't printed them at home.

When I am on the road and don't have access to a printer I check in online so I can pick my seat. They print them at the airport with no problems.

When we flew AirTran in August, there were special lines for those who had already checked in online, and needed to check baggage. The theory was that those lines moved faster...
