Online check-in amenities issue

I did my online check-in yesterday and where you can do room and amenity requests I could choose two room requests so I specified building and level. There were no other options for other requests so I clicked done. Then it lists "room request": my two choices and Amenities request: None. did I miss something? I wanted to make sure connecting rooms and box fans were requested but didn't have the opportunity.

I called and talked to a cm in reservations and got 4 out of 5 requests.

We have our reservations; my in laws are going with us. So the best way to try to get connecting rooms is when after they make their reservations is for us to call in when we can check in and request it. I know its not guaranteed. We are staying at SSR. We have a one bedroom. If the in laws get a studio they should heighten our chances correct?
