Online booking - timing out

Does anyone else have a problem with online booking timing out after just a minute or two? This is really getting frustrating. It happens on a couple of pages.

For example, with online booking, after entering my dates, resort and room type and clicking the button, as usual it shows several options. As I'm scrolling through looking at them, it times out and sends me to a booking error page with a tiny error message: "Error code: " (notice the code is blank!)

So I start over and this time I make a selection quickly and manage to get to the page where I enter the guests names. I can just manage to fill in one name and address before it times out again and I have to start over.

This also happens on the "Upcoming vacations" page if I click on the button to show travel plan details. I get between one and two minutes and the page times out and sends me to the booking error page.

I'm use Firefox on Windows 8.1. This has been happening for months now and yes, I should have reported it ages ago. I'm curious if others have this same problem and whether there is anything in common such as the browser or operating system. It would help to know if everyone has the problem or only some of us and what might be different between those who have the problem and those who do not.

Thanks!

I just did an experiment and when viewing the Travel Plan details for an "Upcoming Vacation" with Firefox, it times out after 1.5 minutes. I tested the same thing with the Chrome browser and it does not time out, (well I gave up after 4 minutes).

So it looks like Firefox has something to do with this. Perhaps it is an issue with the browser or one of the add ons like the ad blocker. Anyone else have problems with online booking with Firefox? Again, this is not a new problem. It has been an issue for several months. The fact that nobody is ranting about it here suggests that it is not a widespread problem.

I had an issue with this when booking with Chrome earlier this month and in September.

I just typed really fast and got it done.

It was really annoying and just assumed it was a system issue on Disney's end.

This happened to me once--when I was booking last June's trip...I "solved" it by only entering my own name (called MS later to add my guests)...it hasn't happened since (and I've booked a couple of trips since then)...I also use Firefox...

I have no solutions to offer (other than simply entering just one name to book the villa and then calling to add add'l names later)...and I sure hope it doesn't happen again!

That's a great idea. I will have to use that.

I've been playing around with this some more. The timeout always occurs at around 90 seconds, maybe 100 seconds, after the page loads. I use Firefox and have the Ad Block Plus add-on installed. If I disable ADP on dvc.disney.go.com the problem goes away. If I re-enable ADP for that URL, the problem comes back.

I'm guessing that on some pages on the member site the website tries to pop something up about 90 seconds after the page loads (a chat box? or that annoying survey window that pops up multiple times while on the site?) and when ADP blocks it, it causes the website to get confused and redirect me to the booking error page.

For now I seem to have a fix for this very annoying problem. I hope this helps someone else!
