Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

Question for anyone who has used it- do you have to use a credit card to book the ADRs online? I know for most of the restaurants before, when booked over the phone, didn't require a credit card to book them (with a few exceptions like CRT, and so on).

Credit card requirements have not changed.

Can you still make adrs by calling a real person!!! I am NOT happy about online booking I think to many peopl will make duplicate ressies and mess things up for everyone !!I think Disney will find this to be a major problem as they will have many empty tables at the restauarants !! If they had the 1 ressie per meal time built in I would be much happier !!I am sooooo glad I made mine for September already the old fashioned way !!!

Hi Joanna! Nope, you don't need a credit card unless you are booking CRT, or California Grill, etc. Places that need a CC guarantee. :goodvibes

P.S. I just switched our CG reservation to 5:30. Jordan will fill you in!

Sorry if this question has been asked, but when I was playing around with the new onlie ADR site....it would only allow me to book 90 days out. When my 90 day deadline arrives...will it know to let me book all 10 days?????

right now the 90 days plus 10 does not seem to be working. We will know more tomorrow when others try to book this for the first time.

It will have to recognize your reservation in order to do this and there seems to be problems with that. As right now it will not recognize DVC reservations or those made by travel agents.

You can't play around with the 90 days plus 10 because you will have to a vaild Dsiney room reservation to get that.

What I learned while booking and tweaking today.

* There is a differential between suggesting dinner and lunch times. I tried a 5 LC for one day and got nothing Tried a 4 o'clock and got suggested a 2.30 lunch.
* You can't cancel a Credit card held ressie online - Have to call it in (there is no cancel option), but I had no problems canceling a standard non credit card reserved one.
* I could pull up all my ressies I made over the phone except Chef Mickey's and Rainforest Cafe
*There is no easy way I have found to pull up your ressies except entering in all your confirmation numbers with phone numbers (Would be nice if you could just pull them with resort conf number and phone number)

Yes you can definitely call. Just as they did with the Dining plan; as problems arise I am sure they will deal with them. They might be slow to do it, but they will, especially if it costs them money or leads to guest complaints.

Also the link to find current reservations is not working for everyone, it is not working for me.

I made my adr's on 6-13-09. I used a TA and gave my conf # to the cm however when I was playing around on the online web site it would not pull up my conf# I was given so I was unable to go out further.
I was able to pull up my adr's with their conf#'s to verify dates and times and was able to book CRT for an earlier time on the same day I had previously booked but I called and cancelled by phone after having the CM verify my earlier time was there and then I checked them again on line

As for the first rumor, I have NEVER heard of that happening. Unless we have a few dozen people who have been to WDW in the last month or so, and they have skipped an ADR and had the remainder of their ADRs canceled, I wouldn't worry about this. It seems a little extreme for Disney to do something like that; charge CCs, etc., maybe, but not arbitrarily canceling every remaining rez.

As for the second rumor, I, myself, as a test, was able to book four ADRs within five minutes of each other for dinner: CDF, LC, ND & Marrakesh, all between 6:55 pm and 7:00 pm on the same night. There was nothing to prevent this except a caution that popped up, stating if these were duplicates "to please" cancel one or more; that if these were for split parties, to continue booking as usual. The new system does not appear to mind whether you double or quadruple book. It's a shame. I was hoping they would crack down on this. Incidentally, I canceled those test ADRs. I'm not that cruel to my fellow DISers.

Great work - guessed they were just poor rumors.

I have a current resort ressie....but my ADR call in day is not till 7-3-09.
Right know I am not really thrilled with this system. Kind wish it would not have went into effect until after my call in date. I also think the online system will allow lots of multiple reservations....thus the honest traveler may be out of luck.

Unless you have the problem I do-I can't pull up my ressie online. I booked it myself, on the phone, in April. Disney is supposed to be working on the problem. Meanwhile I can't book using the 90+10 option. Urghhhh!:confused3

Have you actually tried your res on the dining page? I've also been unable to pull up my hotel reservation online but when I checked out the dining reservations today I put my package confirmation number in and it was able to retrieve my res. Still can't pull it up through my reservations page though.

If you're logged in when you make your ADRs, it will save them under you name (obviously). Go to the top right of the website and click on "My Disney Vacation". A drop-down menu will appear with a link to your "Dining Reservations". Click on this and a page will come up with all of your ADRs. I think this is what you were looking for.

i sure do hope all of the "kinks" are worked out by the time we're ready to book our ADRs for November/December!! :goodvibes

Is there anyway to get more than 1 dining option when searching?

It would be nice if it gave you, say 10-20 openings at The Crystal Palace on one page, and you could select the best.

I never got that many, but when I searched for somewhat less popular places, it did seem to give me any options around that time (11:55, 12:00, 12:20). I know I got at least 3 or 4 options for at least a couple.

So, has the online system actually worked at all today :confused3?? I have tried to log on throughout the day and all I get is "booking system is unavailable" please call 407-wdw-dine.

It's worked for me every time I've tried it today and I've made 3 successful reservations at 3 different times.

I read in another thread that it is most likely 6:01 am along with TA's.

The travel agent's I know around here are doing theirs at 11pm (12 eastern), so I'm not sure that's correct.

Just reiterating - you were able to pull up phone confirmations? I didn't think that was possible. Off to try! ;)

Hmmm.... ok I confess, I'm not the most computer literate person around, but what the heck is this? Everytime I try to check on availability for any of the restaurants on Disney's online system, I get this pop-up.

When I click on "Find," it comes up with this window....

Does anybody know why this keeps popping up for me? I can't access the system for some reason, but I seem to be the only one having this problem? Anyone else getting this pop-up? How do you get around it?

Anyone with computer experience that can help? :) Thanks! :worship:

Nobody knows that this is? Why am I not able to access the system, but yet all of you are?

Perhaps it's a Vista thing? I have no clue...

Anyone?

I just read a few pages back that you CANNOT book 90+10 if you booked through a TA???? Is this true???? We are staying at POFQ. My ADR day is tomorrow!!! Am I paniking over nothing????:confused3:confused3

Oh, don't go blaming Vista. If anything, Vista is protecting you from something you shouldn't be doing.

What do you mean when you "click on Find"? What "find" button are you clicking? Because on the Disney Dining page there is no "find" only "search".
