Online ADR booking could be here soon

Am I the only one who gets excited about phoning and booking meals then?

I've always ended up with CMs who chat for ages about what we've got planned for our trip ~ I'll miss this part when we book ADRs online.

no i enjoy phoning up too. all the cms i've spoke to have been really friendly and been very helpful.

Just a quick one are all the ADR's still at 90 days ? Keep seeing posts on the US boards saying some are still set 180 days like CRT ??? What is the best phone number to call from the UK to book also ??

Cheers...

OK this has me confused, how come they are now taking bookings at 100 days when it is supposed to be 90? if that's the case then I should of already made mine!! Think I best give them a call.

Perhaps it is because you can book 10days in advance of your arrival day. So the day you arrive is 90 days away but you can book for the 100th day.

All are at 90 days with the exception of CM, CRT and V&A - these can be booked up until 19 June (or 20 June depending on some reports). Once it hits 90 days out from these, they'll come under the 90 day rule as well.

In case anyone isn't clear, the 90+10 rule means you can book up to 10 days from your arrival day if you are staying on Disney property. It does not mean you can book 100 days out from arrival date. For example, if 2 families (one on property/one off) are arriving on 1 July and want to make reservations, they'll both book the same 90 days out. The on property guest though can then book up to 10 days worth from then. The off property guest will need to phone back each day if they want a ressie each day. The other thing to note is that a limited number are released on the 90+10 rule so if you don't initally get what you want, be sure to phone back on the 90 day rule.

cheers for the replies guys....
is there a better time to call in the day and make your adr's or is it just pot luck ??? what number do you all use ???

Not sure whats going on with the ressie system but I was able to book my ADR's tonight, I am at 95 days out from my check-in day, they were in a bit of a mess with the new system but I have all mine booked now and it took me over the 100 day mark!!

Some CM's aren't clued up on the 90+10 rule so it's possible to get one who thinks you can book at 100 days. :D I know I'll be trying at 100 just in case, worth a try! lol

The number to make reservations is (011) 407 WDW DINE (939 3463).

I also use a 1p a minute number to the US so it doesn't cost the earth. There are a few but the one I use is 08448617878.

So you dial the 0844... number, wait for the short message then dial the 011 407... number.

You're then onto the system and you follow the instructions to make a ressie. :D

About time! The only thing I am a little worried about is people using this to book multiple restaurants that they are likely to not bother turning up for - after all, it's easier logging on to a website than calling up and giving a CM your request. Hopefully it will be treated with respect and it won't become more and more difficult to secure ADRs.

That's exactly what I'm worried about. I can see it being a lot harder to get ADR's this way. :S

I am sure the system will be built to stop people doing this - somehow?:confused3

I hope they do have some sort of provisions although I wouldn't count on it, they are not supposed to take multiple booking by phone but they do. If you look on the trade board on the restaurant forum you can see people who have multiple bookings looking to cancel them or trade them out, when I was looking for a ressie for December the same woman have around 3 and 4 ASR's booked for evening meals every night for a week and she was canceling her holiday so put them on there.
No wonder people can't get reservations if some have 3 or 4 at a time it seems ridiculous!!.

I hope you don't need a Disney reservation number to use this system as we've booked with VH.

I doubt the system is going to be advanced enough to link up with the reservations system so, if it does ask for a reservation number, you could probably enter any old number and it would accept it. I believe the same is true if you telephone and a CM asks you for a reservation number.

ooh I hope its up and running soon, can't wait to make my ressies. Still not happy about the 180 days changing, I would have been all booked by now :(

Where on earth have I been!! I still thought it was 180 days, I was looking forward to booking them up in a couple of weeks!:(

Glad it has changed, we are under 180 days to plan 16 days of free DDP and just can't think about it so far away. The online system would get me motivated, I would have to try it.:goodvibes

We have got our dining reservations by both ringing in advance the day they are available, and by ringing when in Florida for a table that night and have had no problems either way.
I am wondering though if they book the restaraunts up to capacity over the phone, or if they leave some tables available for people who turn up, or ring up, on the day.
When we went to T-Rex for the first time we had booked over the phone weeks before travelling but the place was almost empty. We were told by the 'greeter' that they only reserve 30% of the tables over the phone - the rest are for people who turn up at the door on the day.

When I went to disney in 2007 with virgin I just rang them and asked for the reservation number they had with disney so I could use it for adrs (and for dme) they gave it to me.
