While some of the maestros are away, this mouse will play!

What better time to put up my shingle in the DISign community? I have admired a lot of the other artists here for a while, and thought I could add a little something, and maybe hone my photoshop skills.

I have just a few images, mostly what I have made for myself. I didn't think to make space for personalization on a lot of them, but I am open to any suggestions or requests.

Thanks, folks!

and from one of my favorite places on the planet too! welcome!! :hippie:

and I personally don't get the names on everything requests but I accomodate (usually)!

Welcome to our little corner of the boards. It is always nice to have a fellow designer contributing. Warning: it can be very addicting!

You have some very nice designs. I was wondering if you would be interested in helping me with a project. I teach 4 year old pre-kindergarten, and on January 9, we start a week long unit called International Week. I thought it would be fun for the kids if we "flew" on an airplane to the country we are studying each day. I would like to have an airplane ticket for each day of the week, but I can't seem to make anything look right. Would you be willing to make a simple airplane ticket with the following destinations? Egypt, Australia, China, Germany, and Mexico.

If you are not interested, please just let me know, and I will see if I can make something else work. Thanks so much for your consideration.

That sounds like fun, I would be happy to give it a try.

We always fly Southwest with e-tickets so it has been a while since I have seen a regular boarding pass. I will look around for some ideas.

Thank you very much! Please remember that you are creating for 4 year olds so if you tell them it's a plane ticket, it is a plane ticket. ;0)

Would you like one for each nation (Qantas, Aeromexico, China Air)? Or just one generic pass (Air Alabama)? I generated a black and white copy to see how it would look if you needed to photocopy them vs. print them out.

Wow! That looks terrific! You can do the tickets whichever way is easier for you. I am happy with anything!

Thanks again!

Happy to see that you've come out to the public eye! Now everyone can see what we on the Eastern Canadian Cruise board have been enjoying! Good for you!:thumbsup2

Those are absolutely terrific! Thanks for helping me keep my class excited about learning! I am blown away by the work you did for 4 year olds. Thanks so much.

I showed the airline tickets to my husband, and he has offered to take the files to work and print them out for me on heavy paper in color! Thanks so much! My class is really going to have a great week! I am not sure if I will be able to top this one!

a quick question - how can you fill in the mickey ears - is there a template for the whole mickey head - or do you build the head with a circle & ovals & if it's the second - how to you get a picture in all sections - thanks in advance for the help -

I am very pleased that you like them. My sister is a teacher, so I know how much you all do beyond the "call of duty", so I am happy to help.

The first question is what are you using to paint?

I use PhotoShop. I probably do it the hard way, but I made it from three ovals, then erased the arcs within the head. I created a new layer and created the background image that will be inside the head. I switched back to the head layer, then selected everything outside the head (with the magic wand or quick selection tool). I then switched back to the background layer and hit the delete key to remove everything outside the head.

The smart way is to use layer masks. If you add a layer mask to the head layer that blocks out everything outside the head, it should allow you to add the background layer behind the head layer, and it will automatically block out the outside the head areas. I think it works better because you can get a better idea of what the end result is going to be. For example, with my Swedish MH, I am unhappy where I let the stripes fall within the head. Using the mask I could drag the cross around until it looked right.

I love you Canada designs! :lovestruc

Could I get the Searching for Captain Kidd's treasure and New Brunswick Flag for June 17 - 22?

Thank you soo much!

I probably "overplussed" it, but if you are interested in the Captain Kidd image, here is my latest iteration:
