Holy Bananas!! This is the first week of school and the days have been so busy, they've just been getting away from me! I haven't been doing surveys much but I've been tracking the earning/savings as best as I can. We just booked the cruise for the next trip on Monday, so I've had to come up with that money to pay off the credit card charge. At present, I am $154 short. LOL It was a $300 deposit USD which came out to $384 CAD. I've managed to scrounge up $230 so far and I have two weeks to come up with the rest. If I can't, I'll temporarily borrow from my Disney money and then pay myself back in October.

So I'll recap the earnings for September 2nd and then you'll notice that today we are down a lot, because I made that payment this afternoon.

**DH has decided that he is able to dedicate $40 a month towards the cruise starting with October (he's already blown through his September money ), so I'm happy about that. We are also going to throw our Birthday and Christmas money towards the vacation since we don't really want/need anything, so that's going to help as well. I need to do up the August budget, so I can see how much money I think I can allocate from that month towards our travel expenses and food, so I have some real numbers to work with and can begin making a monthly goal to work towards. Getting excited!!

Okay, so when factoring in DH's present money, what we currently have and the money that will go towards the trip in the month of August, it looks as though we need to try and earn/save $300 a month over the next 11 months. His $40 will be a good start and I have a couple of ideas on how to make a couple of big jumps...but that's a discussion for another post. In the mean time...we're going to keep on keepin' on!! This month is definitely going to be a bit of a challenge since it's a five week month with only a four week budget and the back to school expenses are already bleeding me dry...but we'll see what we can do.

Yes...our cost of living just outside of Toronto is not TOO bad, but housing prices have recently skyrocketed and we are still saving up to buy. Houses are basically going for double what they should...CRAZY!! So...we'll keep saving and waiting and then see what's what.

**I made a payment on the credit card to cover the outstanding balance from the cruise deposit. I rolled and cashed in some change from the change jar ($42) and put that plus a bit I scraped together from here and there on the card and was only short $60. I transferred money from my Disney account to cover the shortfall, so I still have that to make up before I can really get cooking on accumulating some serious cash for the cruise. This month has been slowly bleeding us dry though and I have to get to October 5th on this pay, so I'm going to have to be a bit of a tightwad until then. But, I'll do what I can i the meantime!
