One year ago today....

I woke up a few ounces lighter having donated my kidney to my younger brother...and a little on the weird side coming down off a morphine high

I'm happy to report that we are both doing well and have so much to be thankful for at this special time of year.

I also want to remind and encourage everyone to sign an organ donation card/your license....but most importantly to talk to your family about being organ donors so that, heaven forbid something happened, there won't be a question as to your/their wishes regarding organ donation.

I am hoping to be able to be a match for my sister who is someday in the near future going to need a kidney as well due to a rare kidney disease. Your story has put a smile on my face and I too agree with signing organ donor cards!!! What a great way to share the gift of life!!! I am currently awating a kidney transplant myself. Various family members are going through the testing procedure to see who is the best match.

It is always encouraging to hear from a " survivor ".
