One week to go! Please advise.. trip with Virgin

Hi guys,
Leaving next Weds, can't wait! Booked through Virgin to stay at the Best Western Lakeside.
Firstly, the virgin vouchers given for the tickets, are they redeemable at the hotel or is it best to go to straight to WDW or Universal Resort?
Secondly, has anyone booked into Best Western Lakeside before? What's it like?
Is there any advice you can give about Virgin tours? Any tips you've picked up along the way?

Not had any Virgin vouchers for a couple of years but I guess you will get them exchanged at the parks(or Downtown Disney) you won't be able to exchange in the hotel.

Stayed at BW Lakeside 4 times(under different names/owners) great value resort. Considered it again for next Feb(£23/night) but DW prefers LBV.
Gator used to live in the lake, don't know if its still there.
Can't help with tours, never done any.

Hi

As you drive into BW Lakeside there are 2 sides to the complex - the right hand side (where pool rooms are) and the left hand side where the lake is.

Try and get rooms facing the lake - I asked to change rooms from the pool view rooms as they were dark and dingy - but the lake facing room was brilliant!

We stayed at the BWL last july and we couldn't fault it. It was clean and functional, but better still it was really close to WDW.

There is also a Walgreens practically in the carpark, and quite a few restaurants are within easy walking distance.

Its in a nice area, lots of restarants near by and very close to Disney.

We stayed there in October; rooms were great, clean etc. Pool areas nicely kept too. At this time of year there only seem to be one pool-side bar/snack hut open i.e at what they call the 'main' pool. This didn't bother us at all (as it meant 'our' pool was nice & quiet) but if it's an issue for you ask to be near main pool.

Also great for 'sneak' route into WDW - Sherbeth Road - brings you out near Animal Kingdom area.
