For spring break, we are doing kind of a split trip. We are going to visit family in Ft. Meyers, then renting a car to drive up to WDW. I was able to get a pretty good deal in a one way rental, but only if we go from airport to airport. It pretty much doubles with a different drop off area. Do you know if we would be able to get the magical express bus from MCO after dropping off our car? Thanks in advance!!!

Are you staying at Disney? If so, you can get Magical Express just call add it to your room reservation.

Yes. I haven't been to MCO in a long time, and just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be an issue getting to the Magical Express counter from the car return. Thanks!

It won't be a problem since you don't have to go through security to get from the car rental return to the DME area. When you go to return the car at MCO, try to return it to the "B" side of the terminal. I think most of the agencies have both A and B side drop offs. DME is on the B side, so it will mean less walking for you.

Can I ask you what the code was that you used to get a good one-way rental? I have been looking but everything is so expensive!

I went on Kayak and searched. I got a one way, one day economy car from Fort Meyers airport to MCO for a little less than $60. It will be tight, but there's only 3 of us. Budget had the best prices, and they were about $20 less on Kayak than o their site.

If I may suggest... stop by Disney and drop off your luggage, then take the car to the airport. Then you don't need to get the luggage to DME.

That is EXACTLY what we're doing. Except first, we're going to a Publix on the way in. I can't live without my coffee and cream!

FWIW, one person's one-way rental will be a totally different price than another person's. It all depends on what the car rental agencies need.

I've rented a car from Canaveral to MCO (or Car Care Center at WDW...can't recall) for a stated daily rate of $75. (we had a free day with National so we didn't pay that)

I got a Phoenix to Anaheim rental, with 4 or 5 planned days of having the car, for something like $150. (obviously a better per-day deal than the first one mentioned)

Apparently National NEEDED the car to get to Anaheim, but didn't need the other one that badly in Orlando.
