We just returned from Universal/IOA and had a GREAT vacation. I actually was quite sad to leave! We had nice weather (other than the 1/2 hour of pouring rain on C-Mas day- but we actually enjoyed it because we were in the hot tub at RPR and it was fun!!!)

One tip I never heard on the boards was to BRING YOUR AMERICAN EXPRESS card!!! (If you have one) I left mine at home, i never carry extra cards on vacation- just my main Disney visa (all the people at Universal just LOOOOOVVVEEEE to swipe my Dis. Visa- I was actually told several times "WE do not accept this card here"...) If you use your american express card *ANY ONE* you'll get things like free apps. or desserts at certain restaurants- other places offer 10% discounts and things like that. I would have LOVED to get a few free appitizers or desserts! Use it at a sit down restaurant (MYTHOS ESPECIALLY!!!), any of the shops that offer deals-
I was sad when I arrived at Mythos with out my american express!

Hmmm...I never knew tht either. I just know my AAA card gets me 10% discounts at Universal/City Walk restaurants.

universal's official cc used to be MC.

i still have the UO MC.

it had perks to it if you used it in the park/hotel.

a few years back, UO switched to AE as the official cc.

i don't pay for membership services so took a pass on applying for it.
when i checked into it, there were different programs for the AE card.

if you have AAA, APH, you can get the some of the same perks.
