Hi.

If I want to book one night at a DVC resort and I have not purchased one-time use points for that U/Y and the one night is less than 25 points, can I do this on my own. I always thought it had to be purchased if I was tagging on a night to an existing reservation or if I didn't have enough points for a complete reservation but could I use them for just one night I do not have enough points to cover the night?

Also, are there restrictions on using the points? I would like to book the one night for February and my seven month mark is in a couple of weeks for that one night. Can I purchase the points to make a reservation seven months away?

Thank you all so much!

Yes, you can purchase OTUP for a one night stay. Yes, you can do so when your 7 month window opens. You will have to call MS to obtain the OTUPs, you can not do so online. The restrictions are a limit of 24 per UY.

This is perfect! Thank you. I thought I would have to rent but now I can just purchase and have control. Thank you so much!

Yes, I just did this very thing. A night opened up at VGF, and I have been wanting to try it just to see if I would like it and want to stay there other times, but it's hard to get into, so when I saw one night appear on the planning tool I called up and grabbed it by purchasing some one time points. So we'll see, I'll get a taste of the red roof inn over there and see what it's like, hehe. I've never even stayed in the GF hotel, so I'm excited.
