One Time Use Points

I basically understand the concept, as I have used them before, but I have a situation that I need to make sure it will work for before I purchase the points this time. In the past I have called in to MS and made my reservation as I needed the points to complete it. This time however, it is a situation where I have bits and pieces of BCV during October and I want the points ready to go when the day comes available I am going to need. We all know by the time I can call in it will be most likely be gone.

So my question is…..Can I call to book a night, buying those points for any other resort that is open, and then go online to cx so the points are avail. for me to use when ready? I just want to make sure they don't go into holding and they are treated as regular points once you purchase them.

To use OTUP, you must talk with a CM. They are NOT available to be used online, they will not show up online to be selected. At least that is my experience.

I would book a random night buying the OTUP. Cancel online. Call and have MS reallocate to use OTUP on current reservations made after 7m, thereby freeing up your points.

I've never tried this, but theoretically it should work. I would also double check and ask what happens to those when the reservation is canceled.

Sorry off topic, but are the OTUP only available once in a UY or is it one time during the life of your contract? Never did it, but this might come in handy. Also, can you do this at the 11 month window?

Once per use year per membership.

They can reallocate the points. I had booked Poly and bought one time use points for the stay then changed to BLT-they didn't use the one time use points when I changed the reservation so I called back and they reallocated points (of course this all was on the same day and they should have done it that way originally so it may have been an exception?)

How many one time use points can you buy each year? I know I saw the number somewhere but as usual can't find it when I need it!
