One time use points -- only available via phone?

I know one time use points can only be purchased at or after the 7 month mark but can they only be purchased by phone -- is this correct?

You would think they would have the system set up so that you could complete a reservation and just purchase the OTU points online. BUT then again it is Disney IT we are talking about

I would blame the users for that restriction.

As someone who worked in customer service, helping people who had refused to read what they were doing or slow down enough to not make a mistake, I know very well how people can mess up their own lives lol.

Most people need that other person to help them out and make sure they understand what they are about to do.

I suspect using OTU points is more complicated than some assume. Better to have just a few dealing with all the intricacies than spending money on software to make them available online. I can think of several higher priorities for the update dollars. YMMV.

I expect Disney to increase the max amount of OTU points available plus when the outside rent rates go up, Disney will match them. They can't have someone making more money than the Mouse!

They just raised the price. That’s what I’d expect them to do in the future when prices rise. I doubt they’d increase the max amount because they’d be discouraging additional contract purchases.
