One time use points and cancellations

I have a reservation booked that I may need to cancel, and I had to purchase some one time use points to complete the reservation. If I cancel, the one time use points will go into whatever use year the reservation was booked for, correct? Would I be able to book another reservation using the one time use points further than seven months out? Thanks in advance!

No. The points won’t show up in your account online. You’ll have to call to use them.

The points you which you paid, the ones that were for a one time use, will remain in your account for you to use on another reservation. But that new reservation must be in the same use year as the purchased one time use points.... In other words you cannot bank or borrow those one time use points.

And the OTU points are restricted to bookings no more than 7 months out. Cancelling them from an existing reservation does not change that.

Thanks for the replies! I wasn't sure of those two aspects of buying one time use points, but thanks for helping clear it up!
