our trip home in December. I just got off the phone with the travel agent and purchased our airfare for our trip to VWL and BCV in mid December. The rate was good and I couldn't see it going much lower (206 round trip from Columbus, OH).

We are leaving late on our return so we'll have another day to play. Does anyone else ever get a late flight so you can "hangout" for the day? If yes, what do you do? We'll be at the BCV for the 2nd half of our stay. We could easily spend the day at Epcot.

Any thoughts and advice is appreciated!

Thank you in advance...

What time is your flight out? Remember to leave enough travel and airport time.

How about a character lunch at the Garden Grill in the Land. You could get up late about 9:00 eat a light breakfast go FW for 10:00 and schedule a late lunch.

We almost always leave on the same flight at 6:15 p.m. (Since we're west, we still get home at a decent time.) It's fantastic! We just treat it like any other day, but with the caveat that we have to be in the car headed to MCO by 4.

We typically revisit a favorite park or two and more often than not end up at the Grand Floridian for tea just before we go. It's a great way to wrap up the trip.

Well we used to get a late flight, but now my wife is afraid to fly (and I make my living as a pilot). We spend some time on our departure day in the MK, and Market Place. We use the time to get any gifts we may need, as well as have our farewell lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern. After all, we need a hearty meal to drive back to CT.

newarknut, what airlines are you flying? We usually fly Delta Express out of Columbus. They have direct flights and lower fares. I don't know your dates, but in December they have fares for $186.50 on delta.com. The return flight is at 12:10 pm. though. Just wanted to let you know. Keep checking back for lower fares. Also, in case you didn't know, America West now has direct flights to MCO. We're trying them for our next trip. The fare is $186.50 too.

I know AW has the direct flights, however, the return time is too early :) I don't think delta has the non-stops anymore from CMH. We leave at 7:30 am and go through Atlanta (yippee). We arrive at 11:25am. Our flight out is at 9:25pm. I figure we'll have time to stroll around the world showcase and let my son visit innoventions then, have a nice dinner before heading out.

The flight back will be interesting. We've never flown that late (translation: we've never driven home from the airport at 1am!).

Coffee, please!!

We had a 7:10pm flight last month. We took our time in the morning, left OKW about 11:00 (the maid was ready to throw us out), stopped at Boardwalk Bakery & Pin Cart, went to Epcot, left Epcot around 2:30, had lunch at Big River Grill, left Boardwalk around 4:00, got gas, went back to OKW to pickup laptop I had checked with bellman, drove to airport, returned rental car to National, no line at security but I did get picked for a carryon search and shoe check, got to gate about 5:15pm. We probably could have stayed at Epcot another 45 minutes, but who knew there would be no traffic (Friday afternoon) or line at security.
