Hi, well I have finally summoned enough courage to ask.
Im shall we say to short for my weight :goodvibes saying that I never let it stop me enjoying myself.
I am going to be swimming with the Dolphins in may and have desperatley being trying to shed a few pounds, but I don't seem to be doing to well :rolleyes1 Anyway am now getting a wee bit worried as to wether or not they will have something to fit me, Those poor little dolphins are going to think Shamu has come in for a swim with them!!! :rotfl2: they will be swimming away from me ,not towards me :rotfl:
Anyway could someone please put my mind to rest do they cater for big people .
Thanks chucklechops :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar

Hi, you have no need to worry. They have lots and lots of wet suits and vests in ALL sizes. Get there early before they actually open, then you will be one of the first to be checked-in and you will get your pick of the suits!:teeth:

You will have a wonderful day, I would love to go back again one day.:goodvibes

They have wet suits and vests up to size 12X, so you should be fine!

I'm so glad someone asked this question. I wanted to swim with the Dolphins but was afraid I'd sink them. Next time, I'll be in there too. Thanks to everyone who posts helpful info like this.

DD and I went to DC last summer and in our Dolphin swim group were 3 quite large persons. I would guess at least 2 of them were well over size 28 (my niece's size) and all was well. They were wonderful people and had a great time just like everyone else - Dolphin didn't mind a bit!

Don't worry at all! We just had our Dolphin swim on Sunday. I have a big butt and didn't have any trouble fitting into a wet suit. You can also just get a vest, but I get really cold, so I went for the wet suit. The ladies who work in the wet suit spot are really nice and don't make you feel like a freak or anything. The gal that helped me and my daughter had us try on vests to get the right size and then gave me a wet suit the same size. She gave me the right size right off, so they are good at sizing you up. The dolphins don't care what size you are either. They play with everyone just the same. Hutch pulled me through the water just like eveyone else. Don't worry and have fun! It's was so neat! :sunny:

I am also a little short for my weight. Although I could have found a wet suit to fit, I was too self-conscious and uncomfortable to stuff myself into one. However, I did wear the vest and had a great time.

Don't worry about it - the trainers won't let any harm come to their dolphins. If they think that you're going to harm them, they will tell you. And they are a great bunch of people who who wouldn't embarrass you in the least. They deal with folks that come in all shapes, and sizes, colors, and know that we're the ones who make their job possible!

And if you don't like wearing a wetsuit, you can just wear the vest. Remember though that the water is suited to the dolphins, salty and usually colder than most people can tolerate.

Go and have fun!!!

I used to work for DC and we actually had suits up to an 18X and I can tell you, they are some large suits...I am a larger lady myself...size 22/24 and I would wear a 2 or 3x. As for the dolphins, you have to remember that the water gives you a feeling of weightlessness so the dolphins should be happy. Any concerns, the trainers are amazing and will look after you every step of the way. They understand that this is the event of a lifetime for most people!

I did fine with a 2x, just rolled the legs up. The guy at the wetsuit stand didn't even ask or bat an eye - just handed me a 2x and said "the legs fold over, ma'am".

It was just fine.
