One Resort Owners - What resort would you buy as an Add On?

For those who only own at 1 resort - what is your first choice if you could add points at another resort?

We have 150 pts at SSR, love DVC and the Resort. We have stayed at 2 others (BWV & OKW), both had their own charm. We have thought of possibly adding another 50 pts but our 150 had served us well. We do talk about where, especially when the AKV opened and had deals. We are not ready to add on, but if we could my pick is the BCV's. I love the location, pool, resort look and layout and being so close to the Boardwalk for the evening. Maybe someday...

We love our BCV, and unfortunately don't have the extra $$ or vacation time to add on points. But if we could, it would be the Contemporary so we'd have the same wonderful access to MK that we have to Epcot from BCV.

I had a tough time with this one. VB or AKV... I'd like to do a small add on at both. VB won out (we really love the beach thing). I'd do a small add-on there for spring break priority. Then, I'd do a small AKV add-on because I just love that resort, it's so beautiful, and to get 11 month priority for concierge.

Oh, I haven't added on yet...VB won for the poll, lol. I think I'd add on about 50 points. But, this is not going to happen any time soon (I think I'll go throw a tantrum about it, now, lol).

But I have to add on minimum of 25....but Disney is selling for $87/pt if you buy 50 or more pts. Plus remember, if you do it just before your UY you get previous years points with next to nothing MF's (their prorated). Am I giving you some ammo to use?

Although we're not one resort owners, but two (OKW and BCV), I answered this anyways. Our next add-on, probably not soon, though, is going to be at HHI. We love going there for Thanksgiving (we'd go other holidays if airfare weren't so very expensive), so we'd love to add-on there. Unfortunately, it's not financially feasible right now, but in a few years, I hope.

Although I just bought into DVC, I am already looking at VWL for my next contract. Shh don't let DH know If I can't find one there it would be the BWV.

Must resist! Willpower fading! Actually, good to know about timing the purchase that way. I'll remember that for when finances do allow us to do that add-on I've been dreaming about

Depending on how many points you have in your original home resort contract, I might suggest adding on at your same home resort to best utilize points. If you are most interested in having 11 month booking advantages at another resort, then pick the resort you like best and research how many points to add on by taking your most likely reservation and dividing it by 3. That gives you the right number of points for an every 3rd year 11 month booking advantage at the "new" resort. That is exactly what we did last year when we added on at AKV. We took our desired reservation, divided by 3 and got 69 points at AKV. Of course, our first stay drained 2 and a half years of points, but that means the next stay will be just about set up in 2 years.

We owned first at BCV. We love it there, but I really wanted to have home resort priority at a resort that had Grand Villas. I wanted OKW, but DH was indifferent. But when AKV was announced and that it would have GV, we bought there.

So I guess my advice would be, if you think at anytime you would want to reserve at GV, get points at a resort that has GV units. Otherwise, working with the 7 month window could be chancy and it wasn't something I wanted to mess with.

I currently own at AKV which I love. I voted for BCV because I *think* that is where I want to add-on to next. However, in reality, I plan on checking out both BCV and BWV before committing to a second resort.

I desperately need an additional 50-100 points at my home, SSR. I don't think I can hold out long enough for them to start selling CRV. I'm already low on 2009 points. But, CRV will be my second add-on. Want that MK access for all those grand-kids I'm planning on having.

I picked BCV. We own at OKW, but DH & I stayed at the Beach Club for our honeymoon, so that resort area has sentimental value for us.

Since I could only choose one in the poll, I went with OKW. But since it is so large, I don't know if I will actually need points there. My other choice would be BWV. We love Food and Wine Fest, and being able to book at the 11 month window there would be great.

We need another 50 pts at AKV so AKV at WDW - but GCV is NOT on your poll - and that will probably be first for us, even before AKV.
