Can you do this?

DH's parents are working on buying into DVC in the very short term. Every other year, they have been coming with us to WDW. We have been getting a 2BR lockoff and they stay in the studio portion and we are in the 1BR. The kids can pop over to see Gramma and Grampa whenever and with the lockoff, Grampa can make his coffee as early in the AM as he chooses to, whether the rest of us are up or not. :teeth:

So, I am pretty sure we CAN'T do this, but thought I would post here, since it's a Sunday, MS isn't open and it's bugging me!

If we (me and inlaws) made a new reservation for a 2 BR lockoff, can MS pull X number of points from my contract and Y number of points from the in-laws contract for ONE ressie, as long as we indicate what X and Y are?

I know one or the other of us can transfer points to one or the other of us, but I am just curious if something like that is even possible. My guess is no, since it's probably too complex for MS to work, but then I wonder how they work people with multiple contracts, especially those with resales. Don't they have multiple member numbers to work with sometimes in that case?

Sorry for the rambling...thanks for any input anyone has.

No, I don't think so. An option is for you to make the reservation for so many nights and they make it for the rest and then link the reservations. I did that one time with friends and it worked fine.

I think when you have members with multiple contracts, they do an internal transfer among the contracts to make the reservation.

Reservations for individual nights must come from one contract source. You could reserve some of the nights from your account and then make the other reservation from theirs and they can all be linked together ... OR ... you could have them transfer the points needed for the Studio to your account and make the entire reservation yourself - which might be the cleanest way to do what you're wanting to do.

Good luck!

Nope. One member number with multiple contracts is very different that multiple member numbers with one contract each....

As stated before, you could book so many nights and your inlaws can books the other nights and you can link together but not have then mixed together for the same days..
