Judging from MANY of these trip reports I've gathered that I should be expecting large crowds at DL when I go Memorial Day Weekend.. This is my first trip since I was two and I was really looking forward to it but judging from what I hear, it's not going to be all that great. :furious:

Ok, I'm a teacher, so I'm going to give a math lesson regarding Disneyland and Holiday weekends.

Disneyland + Holiday Weekend = :crowded:
Add in the 50th anniversary and it's really :crowded:

But, I believe the magic is what you make it, so go in expecting the crowds and have a good time in spite of them, or maybe because of them. Have a plan. Get to the parks early (I can't stress that one enough).

We've gone many times during the summer when the park is crowded and we've gone during New Year's Eve when Disneyland is unbelieveably crowded(it took an hour to get from the partners statue to the exit). And every single time, without fail, we've had a wonderful trip. Sure, the park is crowded. Some lines may be long, but with fastpass, you can deal just fine. And yes, the tip about getting there early is so important. In all our trips, when we've gotten there early, we've been able to do the big rides where long lines tend to develop and stay long with minimal wait times.

Yes anytime there is a holiday Disneyland gets crowded! But like prev. post get there early-before it opens. You'll be able to do the more popular rides before the majority of people come in. And DCA is usually less crowded.
