One orange chocolate ruins the whole thing!

My husband brought home a box of assorted chocolates that an employee gave him today. First I asked nervously (as I always do with assorted chocolates), "Is it Russell Stover?" Because then you can just forget it. I'm super picky with assorted chocolates as it is, but I don't even bother with Russell Stover.

No. It was Ghiradelli!!:lovestruc

I eagerly opened the packages, ready to declare "MINE!" to any caramel, toffee, or milk chocolates. There was a handy guide, and surprisingly I liked almost all of them, except that there was one funky raspberry and one orange chocolate. So I bit into a white chocolate truffle, and it tasted exactly like orange chocolate! My daughter tried a milk chocolate, and that tasted like orange too. Drat!!

The whole box might as well be orange chocolate. What a tragic waste. :sad2:

I like orange chocolate too. Plus I like Russell Stover so I can't sympathize.

Lol I just had a piece of Ghiardelli orange chocolate (although I do like the raspberry a little more).

I agree with you, emer95! Orange & chocolate should never meet!

In fact, chocolate with anything but chocolate is not for me.

Mmm, yummy. I love orange chocolate. I love chocolate covered orange peel even more. My favorite is Neuhaus and Leonidas.

Blech. :scared:I dislike variety packs for that reason. All the flavors co-mingle.

And I actually like orange and chocolate.
When I make chocolate truffles at home, orange and chocolate is one of teh flavors that is most requested.

You and I would be a perfect match since betweeen us we'd never fight for a chocolate. :rotfl2: I don't really like the caramels and toffee but love all the cream centres and nuts. I also much prefer dark chocolate and usually give the milk and white chocolate a miss (unless I'm desperate;)).

.

I agree--the smell of the orange attaches itself to everything in the box and ruins it all! Might as well put an onion in the box! I hate all of thoe cream center chocolates- SO gross!!!!:scared1:

The only way I want fruit and chocolate to meet is a chocolate covered strawberry.

orange and chocolate is the best! oh how I love it. every year for christmas I get dh some dark chocolate godiva truffles, and I always would get myself a mandarin orange truffle. heaven. then a few years back they (gasp) discontinued them. you should have seen my face when the girl told me. lol.

sigh.

preferably dark chocolate and orange.

mmmmmmmmm......

That's disappointing. I got a box of Godiva once and they were all coffee flavored. :sad2: Also, I totally agree with you about Russell Stover, that's not chocolate. I think it's melted crayon...

:rotfl2: The sad part is I'll eat it anyway!

We get those chocolate oranges for the kids' stocking stutters every year and they love them.

Blech- orange and chocolate! Those two should have never been introduced. And I also HATE Russell Stover- utterly disgusting! I'm partial to Sarris, but I do love Ghiradelli. Coconut cream, peppermint creme, buttercream......I think I am going to have to order a box now!

Sarris! :thumbsup2

That's where we part ways though. Orange chocolate rules! Creams, not so much ...

But have you tried Sarris's orange creme?? For someone who hates orange and chocolate together, it was pretty darn tasty to me. I sooo love their peppermint cremes though. I went home for Christmas (North Hills area) and stocked up on 10 pounds of those babies. I have 6 pds left !:rotfl:
