One or Two days?

So im debating, one day with express pass or 2 days without express pass?

Can it all be done in one day with express pass?

Wednesday/ Thursday right before Hhn opens

Should be able to do a 2 day trip and get a lot of the basic rides done if line waits are not an issue

Park to park pass would be to your advantage for the potter sections and use the HE ride

And you can change parks if one park would get crowded

Also use the single rider lines as it saves wait times in lines

Since this is the universal board (in other words inhabited by universal fans ) probably neither of the choices you offered would satisfy. For me it's a minimum of two days to really enjoy the parks and even more days in order to do it all, see it all. Maybe. Anything less feels like the rushed, abbreviated version. But it depends on your definition of do it all. I'm finding that means lots of different things to different people.

I tend to approach theme parks in a commando style. Open to close and run from attraction to attraction, all systematically planned out months in advance. I find this works for Disney because of how fast pass works and how many times I've been there.

For universal iv only been 3 times previously so I only have a loose plan.

I guess part of my question is simply, is the express pass worth it?

Well, many of us do more than just ride the rides

We see the street entertainment, the parade, shows in the park, etc

Some like the interactions with the characters

Some will spend a lot of time in the potter sections

Water rides can be a half day event for some park goers

It's quite possible you wouldn't need express during that time anyway.

Express pass is very much worth it when crowds are high or very high. We found it easy to tour without it for moderate crowds - but knowing which rides had longer lines beforehand was helpful. With low crowds, it wasn't needed and we didn't have to worry about certain rides even. (Though, now that Kong is open, that probably isn't the case!)

As for fitting it all in 2 days, don't forget that there's more than just rides. If you are a single person or an adult couple, then it will be a lot easier to fill in what you want than if you're a family.
