Here I am, working for hours at the computer on my shelter documentation. It is semi dark in the room since SO is asleep. As I am working, I am making notes on an index card for the next staff meeting. Since it is kind of dark(and i am old and semi blind LOL), I am leaning in close to the index card.

As I finish writing my note, I look over and dd's face is right next to my head :earseek:   I didn't hear her come into the room, walk up beside me, or lean down next to me. I did however hear myself scream when she scared me

I told her that she can't do that to me, I am old and fat, she will make me have a heart attack!! :teeth:

LOL That reminds me of the many times I've suddenly awoken to a child about 6 inches from my face staring at me.

My son used to come in in the middle of the night and stand right next to my head. I actually screamed a couple of times and woke up DH, scared the heck out of DH. One time my DH even threw a pillow at him. :rotfl: I feel safe if there's ever an intruder.

:rotfl: It looked like she was asleep on her keyboard! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I did not, you just wanted to scare me, or else you wouldn't have snuck up so quietly!

I remember those days too...and once my heart stopped pounding I would ask what they wanted and I would hear a little voice say "I just wanted to give you a hug (or kiss)" How could I be upset with that?

OMG this is too funny!!! :rotfl2:
This has happened to DH so many times with our DS! Middle of the night and we're in deep sleep and all of a sudden DH will open his eyes and there's DS! Right in his face. Why do they have to get so close? It's a miracle DS hasn't gotten hit and with something worse than a pillow! :goodvibes

I'm sure there are nights I look like that too! And once I was asleep at the computer! I fell asleep playing a game on POGO!

oh don't make me REALLY sneak up on you this time...

I just went across the hall to say something, and mom was walking from the pc to her bed, and she wasn't looking towards the door.

Have you ever seen those cartoons where a cat jumps up and hangs from the celing?

"boo!"

who knew my mom could do that?

:rotfl: ;) ;)

LOL! I'm glad I'm not the only one this happens to.

I get home from work around 1am and the kids are usually long asleep. Well, the other night I was sitting at the kitchen table reading the newspaper and eating my dinner and lo and behold my younger DD suddenly appeared. I never heard her walk in. I dropped the paper and screamed so loud I scared her and she burst into tears!

I felt terrible and then it took awhile to get us both calmed down. I was actually shaking! The house is sooooo quiet at 1am...sometimes one of the cats comes in to see me, but that's it. I eat very quietly so as not to wake anyone and then go to bed. I totally wasn't expecting to see anyone in my kitchen! The really scary thing is DH didn't wake up, with both of us screaming bloody murder!

Laurie :)

Yes, she scared me again and thought it was very funny! I don't know what I am going to do with that kid. Maybe I should go in and scare the poot out of her this morning LOL LOL LOL
