One night waitlisted, thoughts on chances?

A few weeks back 2 nights popped (9.25 & 9.26) up for Poly Lake View so I grabbed them immediately. We wanted to travel 9.24 to and fly home late 9.27. I found a one bedroom at OKW for the 9.24 night and booked to be safe but waitlisted Poly for that extra night. Not a fan of changing rooms, I know some people love it.

Question though... Am I crazy to hope that might hit? Does waitlist only fill if a CM notices it's available or does it match before it becomes available online? If it's a manual process am I better to stalk it at certain times of the day? Has anyone experienced rooms coming available around the 31 day mark?

Fingers crossed I can book that last night and just settle in for the trip.

It's an automated match followed by a manual process to complete. You should still stalk the website often to see if something appears before it gets grabbed by the wait list process.

Things will start to move now as people make their final plans. For instance, I released 2 days at the Poly in a Standard View at exactly 31 days earlier this week. I was waffling between staying at the Polynesian for 2 days, which I love but which would force me to move, and staying in the BWV 1BR I had booked for the entire time. I went with BWV and made someone else very happy.

I believe that WLs are supposed to fill automatically, but for some reason they don't always fill when there is a room. I keep your waitlist but also "stalk" inventory a couple times a day for the next 10 days.
