One night stay?

My boyfriend and I finally booked our stay at the Dolphin for May 24-31! We are flying in the 23rd but the Dolphin has no available rooms for that date. Since we are not renting a car, should we book a room onsite so we can take advantage of Magical Express? Or would it make more sense to find a cheap room offsite and take a cab to the Dolphin the next day? If we do an onsite hotel we would just use the pool and DTD that day.

The Swan would be convenient also, but it's almost $300 for one night. The new POR rooms are looking pretty enticing.

I would try to book a value or mod for a night to take advantage of Magical Express. It will be cheaper cab fare to go from a value or mod to the Dolphin than the airport to another hotel. You would have to pay for transportation back to the airport though unless Magical Express goes to the Dolphin. They may even move your luggage to the Dolphin from the resort but I don't know about that.

One tidbit - Magical Express does not go to the Dolphin or Swan. While they are on Disney Property, they are not Disney Resorts.

Right, but hopefully it shouldn't be too expensive to get a cab to the Dolphin from another onsite resort.

Any other opinions? The next morning we would have to transfer hotels and move luggage, so we really wouldn't be able to get to a park that day at opening time unless we checked out super early.

I had to do this, and ended up renting points from someone for just one night at AKL. It cost me $90, less than a night at a value! And I got a night to explore that resort, where I'd never been before. Something to think about!

Good choice! You can take ME and then Disney will transfer your luggage to the Dolphin for you. The boat will be fun going to DD on your arrival day too.
