Port Orleans Riverside @ $114.56 per night or Sleep Inn-Main Gate for $65.00 both include tax?

The Sleep Inn has a free Continental breakfast, hair dryer, freg, microwave and costs about $50.00 less then DXL. I will only be there one night and then will go to the BWV for the rest of my stay.

What do you think? With the money ($60-70 with breakfast) I save I could buy myself a nice dinner.

If it's only for a place to stay for one night, I would pick the cheaper one and, like you say, use the money for a nice dinner instead!

Just my 2 cents! :D

Try Priceline. Check out the 3* or 4* hotels in the area and then make a bid. There's a link for a board that I'll try to get for you but if I fail, ask around because I initially got it off this board. http://pub4.ezboard.com/bpricelineandexpediabidding.html

I (or my friends) have used Priceline for 4 reservations now and it's saved us (more than) a few bucks. The above site will give you suggestions on what dollar amount to bid, but if Dis is offering deals on their moderate/value resorts, I'm sure the off site properties are not fully booked either. My suggestion, bid LOW. You can always go up on the bid

I would choose the cheaper one, too, but I think you can do better than Sleep Inn for $60. I plan to do priceline for our first night. If you're not comfortable doing that, I think you still could get a better deal or better hotel. We stayed at the Hampton Inn for less than that last year (may not be able to get the price all the time), and that is generally a nicer chain with a more extensive breakfast than Sleep Inn.

Thank you for your replies. I will look into the Hampton Inns and price line. Both are good ideas. I have already decided that it's better to save the money, after all it's only one night.

Just to give you an idea, I bid for one night in December in the Dis area on Priceline $30. Didn't get it. I went up to $35 and included the Universal area. Got Wyndham International Drive. From reading subsequent posts on the board, I probably could have gotten it cheaper, because I also had $15 Bonus Money from Priceline. I ended up paying about $41 for the room, and that included the tax, and the hotel was only about 10 minutes from WDW.
