Hi All...I'm looking for a one night stay in the Universal area in October. We usually stay at Comfort Suites when we travel...and there's one on Major Blvd off Kirkman and Vineland. Does anyone know anything about it? Or can you suggest another place that you do know of that would be good? Thanks..Barb

hey Barb,

I actually saw an auction up on SkyAuction for the Comfort Inn Universal Studios. It still at $1. The only thing I noticed is that there is a reserve. You can try your luck. In my opinion, I would try & bid to see if I actually get the hotel. You might make out alot better than if you were going to book directly though the hotel. But always have a plan B! :teacher:  :dance3:

I wish you luck! :)

We just got back and stayed one night at the Sheraton Studio City. Its a great hotel and is half a mile from US/IOA. I would definitely book there again when we go back.

I like the Hawthorne Suites on Canada Avenue that is close to US. The hotel was clean and come with a free buffet breakfast.

are you planning on staying there for one night so that you can go to universal?
if so, why not stay onsite....that way you'll get front of the line as a guest at an onsite hotel...
the hotels are more expensive, but the difference in cost is made up for by that advantage...i think there are 3 onsite hotels, one of them is less expensive than the other two....

I have the same request as the OP.

We just need ONE night until we can get into our week-long condo in October.

Would prefer near Universal or with a free shuttle.
Free breakfast would be nice.
Cheap would be fantastic!

I did look into staying in Universal. It was $170 with a AAA discount (cheapest of the 3 hotels there). No breakfast. Still have to pay $12 to park overnight. Wasn't sure if the "express pass" was worth the extra $70-100 over a regular hotel nearby. Any thoughts?

Just got a $50 off coupon from Orbitz and found a buy one night get one night free at the Floridian...right across the street from the Hawthorne suites.
For two nights, it came to $33 per night less the $50 off coupon...so it is certainly quite a deal!!!!! and a perfect location for US.

If you can get that coupon , it's worth it to book for two nights and just stay one. Our total came to $28 !!!! and yes, there is also a continental breakfast.

There's a reason this hotel was so cheap. It used be called Microtel Inn on Canada Avenue. I was booked at the hotel for the July 4th week last year. There's was list of things that went wrong:

1. In the Lobby the orange juice machine was broken.

2. There was long in the lobby waiting to check in.

3. No AC in the Lobby at

4. Chemicals in the hotel that cause me have asthma attack

5. They sold my hotel room to another person. They suppose had upgrade to a Junior suite.

6. Junior Suite was not did not 2 beds that I had book. Only King bed and full out sofa.

7. Ride the elevators up the room and was not clean. Almost break my neck with so many coupons in the floor.

8. Junior suite had no AC and was unclean.

9. They refuse give my money back and I had talk to corporate to get my money back.

I am not a picky person at all. All I ask for the room be clean and chemicals don't so bad to send me to the ER.

That's reason I end up at the Hawthorne Suites last year because that hotel.
