Hi All! I just found out that my boyfriend and I will be in Orlando in a few weeks. We will have one Saturday evening (after 5pm) and Sunday until about 6pm free. I am a HUGE Disney nut, but BF is NOT!!! We've been three times over the last four years. He goes for me, but the only thing he really enjoys is Rockin Roller Coaster and TOT. We're thinking of spending our Sunday at one of the Universal Parks... my questions are...

Which one? Does Islands have more thrill rides? Is one park more/less crowded? What is City Walk? Is it a nighttime area we could visit on Saturday, or should we stick with Pleasure Island???

Any advice would be HUGELY appreciated!

TIA

Wendy

City Walk is like Pleasure Island. Clubs, places to eat, movie theater.
I assume you're going in September since you said "In a few weeks". That means the parks close early, 7pm for IOA.
Spend Saturday night going to City Walk, letting the BF have a few beers at Nascar Cafe because they're only $2.50 for a domestic draft. Then visit a club or go see a movie. There is a cover charge for the clubs at night.

Sunday visit IOA because that's where the coasters are. Buy a 1 day ticket. Park opens at 10am for September, so be at the gate early at 09:30am.

Definitely IOA. If your boyfriend likes Rock N Roller Coaster and TOT , he'll LOVE IOA!

but both parks are great. I know you are on a time restraint, but they sell a one day two park pass for $69. You can also buy the express pass for about $20 per person to maximize your day.

Have fun no matter what you do.

Thanks for your help!!

IOA - Here we come!!

2 Questions...

What is an express pass & where do I get it?

I had looked for a one day 2 park ticket with no luck. Is that something that I have to buy at the gate?

Thanks again! I'm really on a time restraint here, and wasn't having much luck finding information, so I really appreciate all of your help!!!

Hi the express pass is the same as Disney fast pass machines at certain attractions and rides although u can buy a booklet for Universal which give u vouchers that act as express passes the 1 day 2park ticket can be bought at the gate i think $70 each
:jester:

Wendy,

Not sure if you are a AAA member but you can get the One Day 2 Park passes there for around $69.00

Hope you have a fun trip! :)

You get the $69 2 park 1 day pass at the gate. It's not on the web site.
If you get to IOA before the gate opens, and take your lap, then you could go over to USF that afternoon and see the park. Otherwise, you'll only have enough time for IOA. Go with the single day ticket for IOA if you don't wake up early, and it will save you some money.

The express pass machines are located near the ride entrances. For Hulk, it's just past the entrance in front of Storm Force accellerator. You'll see a bunch of machines with a sign above them. You walk up, scan your ticket, and pick from 2 times to come back. The machine prints a ticket, and then you can't get any more passes until after the time on the ticket.

Actually, you can now buy the 1 day, 2 park pass online if you're a AAA member. Go to: www.aaa.com/universal

No way!!!! :p Too funny! Wonder if it has anything to do with my mom. (jk) A while back we tried to get a 1-day/2-park pass at our local AAA and the lady didn't even know such a thing existed! Needless to say, AAA didn't sell them back then!

go figure NOW they sell them  :)
